Through their words our clients tell our story.
I strongly recommend Peter Langley for your legal representation. When I was going through the dissolution of my marriage — an inherently stressful time in one’s life — Peter brought his reassuring, mild-mannered and rational perspective to the table, along with his professional expertise. He has a long, well-established, highly regarded reputation in the legal field, as evidenced by the fact that a colleague of Peter’s, who practices in Marin County, had recommended him to me. I always felt I was in good hands through the entire legal proceedings.

In 2009, the recession hit my company hard and I was no longer able to draw a salary, so I decided to seek legal representation to get a temporary relief judgment from the courts to lower my $4,500 alimony fee to my former wife of 26 years. My first lawyer botched my filing and before I knew it I was facing contempt of court for not being current on my alimony.
My former wife responded to my request of relief by retaining a bulldog lawyer who claimed our original six-year settlement was bogus. They immediately filed a request to re-open our marriage settlement case and slapped me for $15,000 in lawyer fees plus a proposed settlement of $400,000. In addition, he then demanded an increased alimony of $7,500 monthly.
At this point I terminated my first lawyer and hired a second lawyer who did little for me. My ex-wife’s lawyer wanted us to settle for $7,000 per month in alimony and $300,000 in cash plus an increased charge to $50,000 in lawyer fees.
I was perplexed and obviously upset when I contacted Mr. Peter Langley. Peter was able to obtain time from the courts in order to review and prepare my case. We had timely key discussions that led to clear discoveries and facts that shifted the tide to my advantage. He skillfully refuted all of their claims and within six months of being on the case, we won a judgment in our favor that saved me hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Peter and his entire staff gave me professional service from beginning to end. Whenever I spoke with any member of his staff, they were always familiar with my case. They provided me the security and peace of mind by knowing that their whole team was backing me 100%. This newfound confidence allowed me some breathing room and I finally was able to relax knowing my case was in the right hands.
Going to court or working with a lawyer is something that I don't want to have to do. However, when the time comes for any matters requiring legal counsel, I'll always start with Peter Langley and his team. It was a pleasure getting to know Peter and I consider him a friend who helped me navigate and achieve a fair resolution regarding my legal situation.

Peter supported me through a complicated divorce which I experienced at the same time as breast cancer. He gave me wise advice about selling my house and managed many court proceedings regarding asset division, alimony, and child support with wisdom, experience, and compassion.
I am financially stable today because of his great help, and I feel like I have a bright future. He is trustworthy, capable, and consistent--the qualities I needed the most.

I engaged Peter to represent me in my divorce and, later, to prepare a new living trust and will for me. I can best describe Peter's handling of my case as facilitative. I found him competent in his knowledge of divorce law and the legal process. My divorce included adult and minor children, and the division of residential and investment property, investment accounts, dual pensions, and other personal property. I found Peter's advice to be sound, practical, and relevant to the particulars of my situation. In contrast to the opposing attorney who was antagonistic and polarizing, I found that Peter's more diplomatic style helped to promote my case faster and with less conflict and cost. His knowledge of the law enabled us to cut through any political posturing and focus on a settlement. With his coaching, I was able to negotiate most of the terms of the settlement. His competent counsel provided me the reassurance I needed during that difficult and life-altering experience.
I felt so confident in Peter's expertise and so comfortable with him personally, that I hired him to dissolve my old living trust, establish a new one, and prepare a new will for me. My assets and requirements were simple. What I appreciated was Peter's willingness to provide this service for a fixed fee rather than by the hour, which helped me to plan for the cost.
I found Peter's staff to be professional and responsive. I have recommended Peter to friends who were seeking legal assistance and he will certainly be the person I turn to should I ever again need such services.

I recently asked Mr. Langley to review a Pre-Nuptial agreement presented to me by my fiancé's attorney. He provided excellent guidance through the process and made several suggestions on improvements that were adopted into the paperwork. At every step of the process I felt informed and that my interests were being actively looked after. His promptness in returning phone calls, emails, and other correspondence was very calming during a stressful period.
I appreciated his professionalism. I look forward to working with Mr. Langley on the Living Trust for myself and my new wife.
